What we don't love:

  • Can Become A Bit Heavy If You Put To Much Gear In The Pockets

A good fishing life jacket is a super important accessory to have. Whether you're fishing on a Stand Up Paddle Board, or on the Canal-Embankment, one of these is a great investment in your safety.

29. Small Tackle Bag

Every avid fisher should have one of these already in their gear collection. A tackle bag will serve your paddle boarding fishing trip a lot better than a dry bag with the organization needed.

We recommend you make use of a smaller tackle bag to help save space while on your board. Using one along with a waterproof waist pouch or dry bag would be a good idea to keep your belongings separate from bait and hooks.

The lightweight and portable fishing bag from Piscifun is designed for the angler to access all their important gear quickly and easily while fishing.

FAQ’S

What equipment do you need for paddle boarding?

There are a few essential pieces of equipment you need when paddle boarding. arrive at your destination unpack sup backpack and use an electric sup pump to set up board in minutes. bring a PFD for safety connect ankle leash so not separated from if happen fall. obviously, you'll need a paddle!

Additional equipment might make your day on the water more enjoyable. Pack up your waterproof dry bag with sunscreen and a cell phone in case of emergency. Consider filling a deck cooler with cold drinks to enjoy while you float - or to share with friends! If planning on a day of SUP fishing, attach your rod holdera to an action mount and throw on a SUP anchor so you can moor in your favorite fishing hole. You can even convert your paddle board to a kayak with a SUP to kayak conversion kit. Our cup holders are also a really popular, and convenient, accessory to have out on the water!

Do You Wear Shoes When Paddle Boarding?

In the summer, shoes are not necessary unless you’re launching from a rocky terrain and might injure your feet. Otherwise, paddling barefoot is the best. Inflatable paddle boards have a cushioned deck pad to make long-distance paddling or even SUP yoga comfortable on your feet.

In the winter months you will need SUP shoes such as a neoprene shoe or bootie. Do not wear regular street shoes that will be heavy, interfere with your balance, or even damage your board. Consider waterproof sport shoes with good ventilation and the ability to drain water quickly so they don’t get waterlogged. A pair of slip-on water shoes fit snug and allow for more flexibility. You can consider glove-like water shoes with each individual toe able to grip the board. Water sandals or deck shoes also work as long as there is good grip and flexibility.

What Do You Wear on Your Feet When Paddle Boarding?

If it’s a nice summer day - wear nothing on your feet! Barefoot paddle boarding is the best when weather allows. In the winter months, consider water shoes like  neoprene shoes or booties for warmth, to grip the board, and to easily drain away water.

Avoid street shoes that can get waterlogged and possibly damage your board if a rock gets carried in the sole. Great shoes include waterproof sport shoes, slip-on water shoes (aqua socks), glove-like water shoes, water sandals, or deck shoes. Ensure your choice has a snug fit so it doesn’t interfere with your balance and also has good grip to keep you on your board.

How Do You Anchor a Paddle Board?

An anchor is a useful tool for many paddle board activities. When SUP fishing, an anchor secures your location while you cast into your fishing hole. It prevents frequent repositioning of your board due to wind or waves. You can anchor your paddle board in the middle of the lake to form a party barge with friends, or enjoy SUP Yoga. An anchor allows you to concentrate on your tree pose instead of paddling.

A grapnel anchor is the best anchor for a paddle board. The galvanized flukes fold to prevent damage to your board, while grasping the sand, mud, or rocky terrain with ease. Attach the snap hook to a D-ring on your board and toss it overboard. The yellow rope is easily visible and a buoy marks its position. An anchor travel bag can be secured with bungees to make for easy transport to your destination.

How do I protect my paddle board?

A great way to protect your paddle board is with a UV SUP sock or bag. You can also protect them by storing them away correctly using a wall or ceiling rack. In addition to this, don't let adverse weather conditions get to the board.

What are THE must-have SUP accessories?

All accessories have their uses, but the must have ones are a Life Vest, (PFD) a good carbon paddle, extra fins, electric pump, (For iSUP) UV sock, and ceiling or wall rack to store them away.

There is no reference to stick on rubber pads which can support elasticated rigging. Do tou know who supplies these?

I am looking for a gift for my wife who paddleboards in open ocean here in Hawaii. I am thinking of a leash for her paddle to her hand? This way if she sees something to photograph, she can go for the camera and not worry about loosing the paddle? Subject is not always in front of board so camera mount would not work. Large fish and creatures pop up on all sides.
Thanks
David
